Would like to trace family blood line. Earliest known family member bearing the surname of WISE was my Grandfather Ned Wise. Given the date of my father's birth (1913 was the year), and an estimate that my grandfather would have been at least 20 at the time of my father's birth, That would put Ned Wise's birthyear to be approximately 1893. Ned Wise was espoused to Julia Wise (Maiden name MULDREW), and sired Milton Wise, Ruth Wise (POLITE is the married name), Georgia Wise, Edgar Wise, and William Wise. Those were the only siblings of my father who's names were known to me. I seek this information in an attempt to establish a trace. Any tangible information would be greatly appreciated. Please bare in mind that this is a serious matter for me, and being as such, I ask that any and all responses kindly refrain from undue rhetoric, ignorance, and an unbridled sense to make a fool out of one's self. Thank you in advance for your kind assistance with my search. God Bless.

My great-g/father Eugine LaVarsha NUNNELEE was born in Savannah 21 Nov 1847.
Bible says he was son of Walter & Annie NUNNELEE and had siblings Annie, Cornelia, and James NUNNELEE. This all of the info the Bible gave.
G-g/f "E.L." NUNNELEE recvd an excellent education before enlisting CSA 1862 at Auburn, Al.
I have not been able to find anything at all on his parents/siblings except that Cornelia may have gone to Texas. G-g/f E.L. d 1909 Hill Co, Tx.
I have found a marriage of a Walter NUNNELEE & Caroline GRESHAM in Elbert Co, Ga but I don't think Caroline is g-g/f E.L.'s mother - could be a 2nd marriage as g-g/f E.L. named his 2nd daughter Annie Caroline. I believe gg-g/f Walter NUNNELEE or his wife were well educated.
I have looked for them for 11 years - does anybody have any info on NUNNELEE's in Chatham County say 1840-1860?? I really need help!!

James R. RASCO Thu Oct 14 14:52:56 1999
James RASCO is listed as a private in the 1st regiment Cac., Georgia Militia from Washington County Ga. 1793-94. It is believed that this is the same James RASCO that is listed as a butcher on the 1798 tax roll of Chatham County Georgia.
Margaret MALL made her will in Chatham County Georgia October 19, 1799, proved May 5, 1806 in Chatham County. She names her daughter Elizabeth RASCO as one of her heirs.
James RASCO of Chatham County Georgia drew lot number 120 in District 8, Wilkinson County in the second Cherokee Land Lottery of 1807.
William RASCO of Chatham County Georgia drew lot number 166 in District 12, Monroe County Georgia in the 4th Chreokee Land Lottery of 1821. This lot consister of 202-1/2 acres of land which William RASCO of Chatham County sold to Charles EVANS of Jones County on March 1, 1824 per Monroe County deed book "C" page 48.
John RASCO, age 20 to 30 is listed in the 1830 census of Chatham County Georgia with 1 free white female age 15 to 20; 1 free white female age 30 to 40; and 3 slaves.
The 1832 tax Digest of Chatham County shows: John RASCO, 200 acres land adjoining Mrs. CHAPMAN and Daniel FOS, 3 slaves.
Chatham County deed book 2S page 48 states: Know ye by all those present that we, John RASCO, Elizabeth RASCO, and Amelia
RASCO, the only legal heirs of James RASCO, deceased, have reached an agreement to divide his estate as follows: John RASCO, for his part, the three negro men Chance, Rinab, and Tipsy, the plantation with ever attachment, appurances thereunto, and also the stock, hogs, ect to Elizabeth and Amelia RASCO. March 2, 1833. Attested: C. LAPHAM, john J. DEAS, and James WILLIAMS.
The 1833 Tax digest of Chatham County shows: Amelia A. RASCO. 260 acres on the Darien Road.
The 1834 Tax digest of Chatham County shows: Elizabeth RASCO by Amelia RASCO, 260 acres of mixed land. John Rasco, 1 poll.
The 1840 census of Chatham County enumerated Amelia RASCO a free white female age 20 to 30 living alone. No John or Elizabeth RASCO appears again.
Questions: How old was James RASCO when he died? When did he die? Where was he originally from? Is he the son-in-law of Margrest MALL? Is Elizabeth the daughter of Margaret MALL the wife of James RASCO? If so, when and where did they marry? Was Elizabeth's sur name before she married MALL? Who was her father? What became of Elizabeth RASCO, did she remarry? When and where did she die? What became of Amelia RASCO, did she marry? If so, to whom, where and when? What became of John RASCO, did he marry? If so to whom, where, and when?
Who was William RASCO? When and where was he born? Was he married and if so to whom, when and where? Did he have children?
What happened to him after 1824? What was his relationship if any to James, John, Elizabeth, and Amelia RASCO?
I am told that there is numerous listing for John RASCO in the Savannah News index between 1826 - 1830. These might be some sort of business advertisements, I do not have access to the actual News Paper for this period. Could someone help? Any assistence in answering the above questions or identifying these people will be greatly appreciated.

Maria A. Fay married Peter Blois on 19 August 1819 in Chatham Co GA as per Georgia Marriages before 1850.
Another Maria A. Fay married my grandfather Ezekial Parrish about 1832 and settled in Alachua Co FL. She was a school girl of 14 in Augusta GA or vacinity. She died nearly 100 in 1905. A son and grandson were middle named Krama Fay.
Ezekial's father and grandfather were from Bulloch Co GA.
Maria A. Fay Parrish was probably too young to have married anyone in 1819 but I have found so few Fays and no other Maria A. Fays in GA so thought these two might be related somehow.

I have recently discovered that two sisters of my ggrandmother immigrated, lived and died in Savannah. They are Bertha C. (KUHLMANN) ROSENBROOK and sister Pauline (KUHLMANN) ROSENBROOK. Marriages recorded were Pauline KUHLMANN married Bernhard D. ROSENBROOK (a grocer) on May 9, 1892 and Bertha KUHLMANN married ?? ROSENBROOK in 1894, both at Ascension Lutheran Church. I have info that Bertha had a cemetery lot in Laurel Grove Cemetery. A niece of Bertha was Pauline R. HARTFELDER (must be Pauline's daughter). I don't know when any of them died though, other than all three women were alive in 1939; I don't know about the husbands.
The other three KUHLMANN siblings immigrated to Davenport, IA. in 1880's. They were joined by the father, Peter KUHLMANN in 1891, I assume after mom died. He was listed as widowed on 1900 Davenport (Scott Co.), IA census and he died in 1906.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks - Lynda in Illinois

Looking for descendants of Bannister Winn and Jane Barnard. Their daughter, Charlotte Winn married Samuel R. Piles in Savannah in 1809. Charlotte and Samuel settled in Brunswick, Glynn Co., GA and Samuel served as State Senator for various years between 1813 to 1823. He also had a title of Colonel Samuel Piles. How did he receive that title? In 1823, Samuel sold over 2,000 acres along the Turtle River and moved to Alachua Co., Florida. Believe that Samuel's father, John Piles was son of first Samuel Piles whom the Georgia Colonial Government chastised for trading with the Spanish at St. Augustine in 1762 forcing him to move there. Many Indentures of that period name him as large cattle owner and Indian Trader with James Spalding. Need first Samuel's wife Sara(h)'s maiden name as well as son John's wife, Mary. Will exchange with descendants source information.

In reference to the same above surname, (different spellings) in a query made by me on Oct. 14, 1999, I have since found that ARTHUR HEYWARD b. SC was a plantation owner on Ogeechee, called Grove Point in Chatham Co., GA.
1840 census, Chatham Co. GA shows Arthur HAYWOOD
1850 census, Chatham Co. GA shows Louisa HAGWARD and AIfred and Mary HAGWOOD
EBENEZER and MARGARET HAGWOOD also the following:
1850 HAYWOOD, JOSEPH M., ELIZABETH A., JOSEPH M.(W ?), CAROLINE L., ELIZABETH A., J.W.A. & A..
There is a strong possibility that my PLEASANT HAIGWOOD b. 1825 in GA is related to this family. PLEASANT later had a son named ALFRED HEGWOOD and grandson, ARTHUR HEGWOOD. By 1847,PLEASANT was in Kemper Co., MS>Lemon Co>Smith Co.,MS, m. 1st, to Elenon Wright & 2nd to Catherine Pace. I am looking for information on Colonel James McNeil who in Savannah on February 9, 1784 signed a certificale of eligibility for a bounty land grant for Nathan Fowler. The certificalte signed by Col. McNeil did not state specifically that Nathan Fowler was a soldier in the Revolutionary War but that, to McNeil's knowledge, Fowler was not guilty of "plundering or distressing the country" and was eligible for a bounty grant. I would like to know if Col. James McNeil was the commander of a military unit during the Revolution and if the "Colonel" rank in 1784 was a military or a political one. Any information on him will be appreciated.
