Looking for information on the following people buried in Bonaventure:

James F. KENNEDY is the original owner of the family plot in Bonaventure Cemetery. The deed shows he purchased it 26 April 1896. Plot number is 158H. The following persons are buried there:

Walter KENNEDY 6 Jun 1929
Adelaide L. RUTHERFORD 12 Sep 1937
Nettie H. KENNEDY 17 Apr 1941

James F. KENNEDY 23 May 1973
Mrs. Mildred KENNEDY 30 May 1974

The main headstone has Margaret G. GRIFFITH & Clara S. HAZEN on it. All of these people are my wife's family. We know quite a bit about them but very little about Margaret & Clara. We know they were sisters born in Maryland but do not know their maiden names. The lived together on Habersham for many years. Clara married a Henry J. HAZEN b. 1824 in England. They had one known child named Annette (Nettie), who is the Nettie H. KENNEDY in the list. Henry J. HAZEN is also a mystery to us.

James F. KENNEDY's father was Edward KENNEDY, a tailor from Ireland. We believe he is the Private Edward KENNEDY in Company A of the 1st Regiment, Georgia Infantry (Olmstead’s). This unit is from Savannah, Georgia.

Can anyone tell me what newspapers were published in 1833 that included info from Effingham Co GA, and where I can find the records? Furney WILLIS was a judge in Effingham Co GA in the 1820's. He died in 1833.

I am trying to find info on my great-grandparents and have little to go on. My gr-grandfather GRIFFIN was a conductor for the rail road. My gr-grandmother's father was involved with the railroad. She died during child birth of my grandfather William Cleveland GRIFFIN Nov 1893.

He was adopted through the Childrens Home Society , the same year, however he only has been told that his mother's first name is Dorothy, and his father's first name is Dwight. Great grandmother, Louise Jennie STEWART, born 1845, we think in or around Savannah. But maybe born May 1, 1844. Don't know mother and father's name. Story - their home, in or around Savannah, was taken for a hospital and they lived in a cave. I have piece of St. Louis Star newspaper with Tn. Civil War dead listed, 1864. Was in an old purse that belonged to her. Think STEWART was maiden name. But may have been married to Alec STEWART. Have letter, 1876, from Richardson, Texas, from a William W. SEBASTIAN. I'm looking for any information on my gggrandparents. Cain AYCOCK, my gggranddaddy, moved from NC to GA around the late 1870's to work in the turpentine business. He married a local gal named Emma Magdalene LOVE. I believe they lived in the Pooler area, however it may have actually been Effingham county. Emma died around 1892, and Cain and the children moved back to NC. Emma is buried in a church cemetery there, according to my grandmother. She was born in 1852 according to the 1880 census.

If anyone has any info on Emma LOVE, please contact me.

Coulter and Saye have published a book about the early settlers in Georgia.The information is based on the manuscript of Oglethorpe and the Earl of Egmont. It is called "A LIST OF THE EARLY SETTLERS IN GEORGIA"

In this book there is a mentioning of ISAAC DEL VALLE who was granted lot 78 in Savannah which he exchanged for one at HAMPSTEAD. Is there a kind soul who has access to this book. ISAAC DEL VALLE is a member of my Jewish Family I would like to know more about.

I am looking for information on the family of Edward and Adline WRIGHT. I'm told they lived on Bismark St. in Savannah. They had 3 daughters, Sarah or Sallie, Emily called Emma, Clifford called Cliffy. We would like to find the family of Cliffy or Sarah. Emily married John F SNYDER. They had one child, John A. SNYDER. John A SNYDER married Lenora E LAWTON, the daughter of Calvin LAWTON and Laura BING from South Carolina. Emily and John also lived on Bismark St. with their three children Ralph, Lenora Louise and Grace. They later moved to Phila., Pa. about 1925. Lenora Louise, my grandmother is now living in Woodbury, NJ and is going on 99 years old.

Charles LOPEZ the son of John H LOPEZ was born in Chatham county in 1864. He married an Ida FEET of Florida in appox 1898. I am trying to locate records of his death sometime between 1910 and 1919. His family moved from Ga to Fla after his death.

I am trying to locate records for Grace QUARTERMAN (born in 1850, approximately) and her brother Israel QUARTERMAN (born in 1855, approximately). They were African-American and the available census slave records do not assist me. I want to know who their parents were and what plantation they were attached to.

Grace married a man named Arion (sp?) HICKS. He was born around 1845. I need to know who his parents were, if there were any siblings and what plantation was he attached to.
