The 9 October 1749, travelling from the Cape near Bordeuax Jean-Baptiste, Pierre, Francois and Gabriel ROTUREAU came back from Bordeux to St. Domingue. Ce Jean Baptiste is perhaps the same as the father (now deceased) of Charles ROTUREAU, a citizen of the Cape, 29 years, sons of Jean BAPTISTE and Elisabeth DANDIN, who married at Charleston the first of March 1807 by contract Constance DUSSEAUX of Port au Prince, 22 years old, daughter of Gabriel and Marguerite HERBERT.
Gabriel DUSSEAUX, surgeon originally of Nantes, had married in Port au Prince the 23 February 1782 Marguerite HEBERT, originally of St Charles in Acadie, with one daughter born the 25th of September 1780.
Their other children, other than the daughter born on 1780 and Constance, born around 1784 and future spouse ROTUREAU, was an infant of 2 months buried at la Croix of Bouquets on the 27th of January 1783. Joseph Gabriel, born at Chantenay near Nantes, buried at Port au Prince the 22nd of July 1793 at 5 years old.
In effect, in November 1787, Marguerite HEBERT widow DUSSEAUX, creole, 24 years old, had left St. Domingue for Nantes with one daughter of 6 years old (from a marriage in 1782) and Constance, 3 years old. She was probably pregnant with Joseph Gabriel and, young widow, went probably to look for assistance from the family of her husband near Nantes. One can suppose that she later returned to St. Domingue with Constance.

Seeking information on the James L. MALLETTE family living in Savannah 1880s - wife Florida, dau. Clifford (that's correct), sons Charles and William. James is my husband's great-grandfather, Charles is his grandfather. Two daughters were living in New Orleans in 1911, when James died - a Mrs. A.C. FLOOD and a Mrs. J.T. MURPHY. Believe one named "Gracie" and may have married a BENNETT (another marriage?). James was rather well known at the time, having worked as an engineer for the city water works for seventeen years, and he was a member of quite a number of lodges prevalent at the time.
Happy to share this family file.

Searching for Nathan REECE (aka Nathan LONG) b abt 1915 in Louisiana to Adam Curtis (A.C.) REECE and Pearl ---. They are found on the 1920 Vernon Parish Census (Ward 3 Leesville) Image 39 of 55 @ Ancestry.com's online census images.
He has a half-sister named Ruby born to Adam Curtis REECE and Nancy Louiser (Nannie) DUBOSE. This family is found on the 1930 Vernon Parish Census (Image 11 of 23 @ Ancestry.com)
Nathan changed his name from REECE to LONG. Left Louisiana and told Ruby he'd come back for her and never did. Ruby has told her daughter that Nathan moved to Savannah, Georgia. It is possible Nathan changed his name again, but we don't know.
If he is still living he would be about 87 or 88 years old. Ruby and her daughter would greatly appreciate hearing from any of Nathan's descendants.
Thanks for any help that you can be.

Hi, I am trying to find out how I can locate an ancestor of mine. I have his naturalization papers from Texas and it states that he came to Savannah, Georgia on the 15th of October 1902.
How can I find a passenger list? I have the name of the ship and where he left from in England but I have no idea how to find out where to find him in Georgia.
I know he did not stay in Georgia, but moved on to Texas. If anyone has any idea how I can contact someone to find this information I would greatly appreciate it. I live in Arkansas and can not easily access information in Georgia.
Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Jennifer Jordan

Searching for information about the RAE family in Chatham Co Ga in late 1700's and early 1800's and the RAE and CHURCH family in Augusta (Richmond Co Ga) in the early 1800. Jane CHURCH was born 1807-1810 and she married Solomon RAY in Henry co Ga in 1829. I can not find her parent's names or where they were from. I found a reference to a Robert RAE of Augusta who had a wife named Elizabeth CHURCH or she was his daughter in law. Somehow there was a connection. Maybe Robert RAE was her step father since there were no CHURCH familys living in Henry co Ga in 1820 or 1830. thanks, Ross
