I am attempting to locate a birth certificate or birth information for my father, Glen Wayne SMITH. He was born in Savannah, GA, on 12-2-1913. His mother's name was Mary SMITH and he did not know who his father was. The family was living in Jacksonville, FL, and according to family members, Mary SMITH traveled to Savannah to give birth to her son and avoid local embarrassement in Jacksonville, FL.
I am not sure if he was born in a hospital or as I have heard through rumors, there was a house in Savannah at that point in history that gave temporary assistance to unwed mothers.
I truly woud appreciate any leads, regardless of how obscure they might be.
Sincerely,
Glen Wayne (Duke) Smith Jr.

Thank you in advance.

I am researching my ancestor, William CLIFTON, who was the first Attorney General of Georgia, appointed by the King of England serving Georgia from 1754 - 1764. All I can find is one line in a remote history. I know that he was born sometime around 1750 and died around 1803. I need date of birth/death. Who was his wife? I only know the name Sallie.

I'm looking for information on my great-great grandmother, Emma Magdalene LOVE. I believe she was born and lived in Pooler. She married my great-great granddaddy, Elcany Elias AYCOCK (Cain). Cain moved to Georgia in the 1870's to work in the turpentine business. He and Emma had 6 children. Emma died from some illness, and Cain went back to North Carolina. I have that her youngest child was born in October of 1887, so she died some time after that.
Any info on Emma or her family would be appreciated.

Would like information on the above surnames. All are the same. Thomas HYCHE was married in Wilkes County, Georgia but was reported to have lived or came in on a prison ship from England, in Chatham County. He could not read or write so I don't know if this is the correct spelling. Would like ship list or indenture servants list for post-1792 years, if they are still available.
