HUNTER - YOUNG - LESLIE / LESSLEY

Annabel Ballew Sat Jan 4 21:10:07 1997
I am researching the LESLIE (LESSLEY), HUNTER, and YOUNG families. Of particular interest to me is Joseph LESLIE (LESSLEY) born 30 April 1807 in SC, died 7 May 1890 in New Edinburg AR and his wife Mary Rebecca WILSON LESLIE born 22 June 1807 in SC, died 30 June 1889 New Edinburg AR. They lived in White Oak Community, Coweta Co. from the late 1830's to shortly after the civil war. I have been trying to locate their parents and birth place for years. The known children of this marriage are:
Margaret Ann LESLIE CARMICAL Born 1830 in SC, Charlott F. LESLIE STEWART born 6 June 1830 in SC, Isabella Jane LESLIE STEWART born 16 Jan. 1832 in SC, John Joseph LESLIE (my ancester) born 1835 in SC, Mary Eleanor LESLIE born 1839 in SC, Susan Adelaide LESLIE STEWART born 1844 in GA. All of these children moved to Arkansas with Joseph LESLIE except for the wife of John Joseph LESLIE (Frances HUNTER LESLIE). Any help will be appreciated.

BANISTER / BANNISTER

Vivian E. Hull Sun Jan 12 06:14:30 1997
- ALL Looking for information on BANISTER, Jarrott/Jarrett/Jarred/Garret etc. and his descendants in and around Campbell, Fayette, Carroll, Forsyth, Coweta Counties.
William Banister, beleived to be son of Jarrott married 1. Patsey MCGUIRE/MCGUEIR/MCWIRE 2. Lucy ONEAL (I have nothing on the O'NEALS am searching for Lucy O'NEAL's cemetery, death, birth, ANYTHING! She was the mother of my g-grandfather and died young. (It is believed she was about 14 when she married William Banister and would have thus been about 15 at death.)Lucy O'Neal likely married Wm. Banister ca 1841 Son of William BANISTER and Lucy O'NEAL BANISTER: David Monroe BANISTER b. abt 1842 in Campbell Co. GA (though information on his birth is conflicting and may have been June 15, 1847) so Lucy would have likely died from 1843-1848 probably in Campbell Co. 3. Clarinda MILLER - William BANISTER married Clarinda abt 1844 and by 1850 they were living in Randolph Co. AL Need information on Clarinda's family, birth etc. 4. Jane, Unknown - By 1860 William Banister was living with Jane, unknown surname in Wetumpka, Coosa Co.(later Elmore) AL.

Land drawn by Jarrott BANISTER was sold to SILVEY's to settle some sort of debt following Jarrott's death. The SILVEY's appear to have been neighbors of Jarrott BANISTER and possibly related? Any information on a SILVEY/BANISTER relationship would be welcome. Jarrott BANISTER was married to Mary HUDSON. After his death (ca 1834-36) Mary married a Reuben (aka Martin) MOORE who died 3 months later and was later found to have had a living wife in NC so Mary returned to her BANISTER name. Ref. pens. appl. for Jarrott BANISTER - War of 1812
