I need help connecting these three families who all lived near each other:
1850 Coweta County
Nathan SMITH page 326 19th Dist. 66
William JORDAN age 40, Agnes (BLAIR) JORDAN age 33, Dempsey age 12, Martin V. age 10
Thomas BLAIR age 24, Amanda age 21 (born Tenn), (maiden name BELL), Mary C. age 4, Phebe age 2/12, Henry age 17
Who is this Henry who is living with Thomas and Amanda? He is too old to be their son.
There does exist a Henry BLAIR but he is accounted for in the following household, as neighbors to the above household:
Allen BLAIR age 56, Mary age 54, Henry age 17, Francis 14, Dicey 12
Allen BLAIR, age 56, is the father of Thomas BLAIR, age 24.
Joseph A. BLAIR age 25, Kiziah age 20, James, Mary 6/12
If anyone is researching any of these names in Coweta in 1850, please write to me.
I have a feeling this Henry is not an actual 'BLAIR' but Henry 'SWORDS' instead. Any theories?
Thanks, Sherry Sheridan

I am trying to find the parents of my ggg grandfather who was Elbert FOWLER of Coweta County, Ga. He was born 1808 and died in Carroll County, Ga. in 1875, though he lived most of his life in Coweta County. He married Nancy TREDWELL who was also born in 1808. They were married in Fayette Co, GA (Book A p. 13) on 6 Feb 1825. The following children were born to them: William H. b. 1829; Jerusha b. 1832; Nathaniel H. b. 1836; Martha Anne b. 1838 (my ancestor); Andrew C b. 1840. My ancestor Martha Anne FOWLER m. James Alston CHAMBERS and moved to Carroll County, Ga where they lived the rest of their lives. They are buried in old part of Stripling Chapel Cemetery on the Roopville Road. Andrew C. FOWLER m. Florida J. MEADOWS on 24th day of December 1868. These children's names were determined from census and there could have been others. Also, it is believed there were two other sons--names unknown. Elbert Fowler married again a 2nd time after Nancy had died--the 2nd marriage to Mrs. Angeline J. KNIGHT GLADNEY. They m. 30th day of July, 1869. Apparently, she was a widow with small children and this might be the Berry H. b. 1865 and Elisabeth b. 1867 on census. Angeline was born in 1845. (There is a Carroll County marriage record of Lemuel M.C. GLADNEY m. Francis C. KNIGHT 5th of Jan 1860).
In an old book at Macon I found a reference to an Elbert FOWLER, son of Henry Ellis FOWLER. I believe this is my Elbert but cannot prove it yet. I believe he came out of the FOWLER Family of Union Co, SC--has anyone else researched this family? I would really like to find Elbert's parents. Thanks for any information!

Am seeking information about one Cornelia GREEN who is buried in Senoia City Cemetery in Coweta County in an ARNALL plot. Apparently she took in several of Thomas Meriwether Gilmer POWERS' children sometime between 1870 and 1880. TMGP died in 1873 and is buried in that same cemetery. His wife, Margaret or Mary FURLOW POWERS is either not buried there or her grave is not marked. She disappeared without a trace that I can find. In the 1880 census their oldest son was in an orphanage in Augusta, but their younger children were living with Mrs Cornelia GREEN in a boarding house in Coweta County owned by a Mr. EDGE who was listed as an "editor". Jammie Lou POWERS died very young and is buried in the same plot with Mrs GREEN. Their oldest son, Ernest Hull POWERS and his wife Willie Brooks CLINE and some of their children are buried in the same cemetery in their own plot. TMGP has a single headstone with his name and CSA ... is in an older part of the cemetery with other CSA vets. It has long puzzled me why Ernest was placed in an orphanage, who was Cornelia GREEN and why did she take some of the children, and what happened to Margaret (Mary) FURLOW POWERS. Thomas Meriwether Gilmer POWERS was the son of Nicholas POWERS and Mary Meriwether Gilmer TALIAFERRO POWERS. Mary had previously been married to Warren TALIAFERRO and they had 6 children together. After Warren died she married Nicholas POWERS (in 1818) and they had 6 more children together. They lived in Oglethorpe Co, and all their children were born there. After Nicholas died in 1843, Mary MGTPowers moved into Coweta to be near her son Charles Boutwell TALIAFERRO. I know Mary MGTP is buried in a now abandoned cemetery in Coweta where all the markers have been vandalized and removed. I would like to know what happened to Margaret (Mary) FURLOW (b. Morgan Co) and would love to solve the puzzle about Ms GREEN and the children. Anyone know anything about these folks? Ernest Hull POWERS was my great grandfather. Thanks for any and all assistance.

I am trying to find out about my grandfather, George Ruffus ROBERTSON. My grandmother was Ida Lizzy GABLE, she was born in Coweta Co. as was my father. I would like to find out who were his parents and where they came from.
Sure are lots of ROBERTSONs out here. I know nothing else about them as they died before I was born. If any one has any information and would share it with me I would be grateful. I have just started on Genealory for my grandchildren and feel lost. There is a site for the CARMICHAEL side of my grandmother on line where we are all listed as ROBINSON. Lots of the names are spelled wrong and lots of facts are wrong or missing.

I am trying all my bases. My HERRON has many spellings, so if you think maybe it might be the one, I would appreciate hearing from you. Abraham HERRON/HERRIN and Abram are first found in the 1839 gold lottery of Harris County, Hamilton, GA and was supposed to be from South Carolina. HIs wife was Polly Ann/Mary Ann and from what I find in Harris County there was a Samuel who married possibly his cousin Tabitha HERREN and an Abel who married a Mary Ann WILSON in Harris County.
Now my dilema is this, after 1850 I cannot find this Abraham HERRON and his wife, and the children, if there were more. I do know that the children of Samuel HERRON were:
Samuel Augustus HERRON
George Williams HERRON
James Russell HERRON MD. Margaret Anna BRADSHAW who married 25 DEC. 1878. She was the daughter of Jonas BRADSHAW and Elizabeth WHITE
Sintha HERRON
Sarah Ann HERRON
Abel's child as far as I know - Frances Carolyn HERRON who married Enoch George HART
I believe he had more.
I would appreciate the eyes and ears on this family. I am at the end of my ropes and I know you understand my frustration. Oh, Abraham might have come from Lincoln County, South Carolina.
Thank you DIANNE
