I am looking for the descendants of John ROBINSON born in Ireland, year unknown, and Maggie BURKE born in 1819, died July 1881. John and Maggie had five children. I only know the name of the youngest, my great grandfather John C.C. ROBINSON. John C. C. was born May 17, 1859 in Roaring Springs, Coweta County, Ga. and died Sept. 9, 1948 in Ennis, Tx. He is Buried in Weatherford, Parker Co. Tx.
The story handed down in the family is that John ROBINSON left his family to go to the gold fields of northern Georgia. He never returned. Maggie could not care for all her children so she bound the older four out. She kept the baby John C. C. with her although John C. C. said that he was bound as a boy to a man named Henry HEATH.
Maggie became the housekeeper for William John SPRUILL and later became his third wife. John C. C. married William Johns SPRUILL's youngest daughter Ellen Ada and they became my great grandparents. I am looking for any information about the ROBINSON family. I would like to find the names of and what happened to the older four children of John and Maggie (BURKE) ROBINSON.

Several families moved from Lexington, SC to the Coweta County area - Senoia, and Haralson during the late 1700's and early 1800's. Some of these families were SOX, SWYGERT, GARTMAN, TAYLOR, CORLEY, GABLE, RALLS or RAWLS, ADDY, and others... Some of these families were of the Lutheran faith, and were members of the Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran church. There were also some Hendrix family members, (I think) who also settled in this area who also came from the Lexington area.
I am particularly interested in the CORLEY family. There were also some CORLEY family members who came to Coweta in the early to mid 1900's. They lived near the Haralson, and Alvaton areas. I believe that these are the Swiss descendants of Lawrence (LORENTZ) CORLEY of Lexington, SC. Some of the CORLEY family from Lexington were also married into the families listed above. If you have any information concerning any of the above families, please e-mail me.
My great-grandfather was James C. CORLEY. I believe that he was from the Lexington, SC. CORLEY group and he lived in the Haralson area from around 1920 to 1930. If anyone has any information on this particular family please e-mail at Daylo1@msn.com
My mother (B. 1928) and grandmother (B. 1899) were also born in Senoia. My grandmother was Ludelia Obie (HENDRIX) CORLEY. I believe that her grandparents or at least great-grandparents were from the Lexington, SC area also. Her grandfather was Anderson HENDRIX.
I have been searching for many years, so if anyone has any information, please do not hesitate to e-mail me!

I am researching the families of Johnathan COWDEN who married Mary WATSON, and his brother, William COWDEN who married Lucinda WATSON, sister of Mary. John and William COWDEN were sons of David COWDEN of Newton Co., GA. They may have had a sister named Agnes who may have married a Mason, per David COWDEN's estate records.
Johnathan COWDEN was murdered, and I have been trying to get the transcript of the trial for the men who murdered him. Anyone connected to these families may email me.

We are in need of old pictures of Churches and tombstones in Coweta Co and surrounding counties. Especially if the church is no longer there, or you can no longer read the tombstone. There is some church's history already, but searching for more. Pictures of pastors or old members appreciated. The Coweta page is the culmination of a Boy Scout Eagle Project by Andrew Wood, taking a picture of all existing churches in Coweta as of 2003, and adding cemeteries as we get to them. Some small ones should be added in the next few weeks. If you have info on your relatives who attended any Church in Coweta, sharing it would be wonderful.
