WILKINS - SHIREY

Ella Jean Walker Sharpe Fri Oct 24 20:59:22 2003
Searching for a Joseph WILKINS who married Velma Lee SHIREY. WILKINS supposedly from Newnan, GA. Supposedly died in Texas. Think he had a sister named Lois WILKINS. Have no idea who she married. Joseph WILKINS and Velma Lee SHIREY had a son born about 1936 more or less. His name is Harley Lee WILKINS WALKER. My mother married this Joseph WILKINS in Newnan or LaGrange and they had one child Harley Lee WILKINS. They divorced and she married Johnnie Cecil WALKER. Harley took my father's last name and later he adopted Harley Lee (WILKINS) WALKER. Harley is now about 70 years old now and would like to know what happened to his birth father Joseph WILKINS.
If anyone has any information please e-mail me at: mistymtn@urisp.net
Thank you so much. Ella Jean Walker Sharpe

MATHIS/MATTHEWS - WALTON - SUMMERLIN - ALLEN

Ann Stacy Sat Oct 25 13:00:47 2003
I am searching for descendants or information about Delphia Ann MATTHEWS, daughter of William MATHIS/MATTHEWS. Delphia married Iverson E. WALTON on Jan.13, 1848. Also, her brother, William married Malinda SUMMERLIN on April 25, 1845 and her sister, Isabella married Jeremiah C. ALLEN on Nov.13, 1837. All of these marriages took place in Coweta County.

Also would like to know if Isaiah MATHIS/MATTHEWS, another child of William, Sr. ever married or if he perhaps was killed during the Civil War.
In 1850 William MATHIS, Sr. moved with his wife Priscilla and their youngest children, Isaiah and Elizabeth, to Cobb County. They were there when Sherman marched through the Powder Springs District where their home was located in 1864. Where were their older married children living at that time?

PILKINTON - TAYLOR - WILLIAMSON - JACKSON

Charlene Hance Sun Nov 2 02:07:19 2003
Searching for info on Ellen PILKINTON, bn. in Pike Co. or Coweta Co., Ga. Her parents were John PILKINTON and Sarah TAYLOR. She married Thomas Jefferson WILLIAMSON, Sr. on June 23, 1899 in Ga. Eventually went to Texas, then she and her children on to Okla. where she lived out her life. I think she was raised around Pike and Coweta Co.'s. Down her line, she's closely related to the country singer Alan JACKSON, but I can't figure one which of her siblings line yet. Anyone with info on any of these family members can contact me by e-mail.

Her siblings were: Ardesie Cornelia (Nelia) (PILKINTON) HARRIS, Jesse Arlin or Armond (Pete) PILKINTON, Catherine Adeline (PILKINTON) HARRIS, Sidney PILKINTON, Mary Ann PILKINTON, Sarah Emma Francis PILKINTON and Doctor William PILKINTON. The counties I have of their lives and deaths are Upson, Coweta, Newnan, Spalding, Tift, Fulton, Meriwether in Ga. For Ellen and Pete, they died in Pittsburg Co., in Okla.

This would really help fill in some blank spots in my records and I'd be happy to share what I have with any family members. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Signed,
Charlene Hance---(Ellen's great granddaughter)

My line of BUTLERs come from Ford's son Malachi BUTLER.
