LONDON

Jennie London Tue Jan 27 15:56:43 2004
Seeking any information, factual or anecdotal, available on my paternal grandparents, Thomas Jefferson LONDON and his wife Amy, who homesteaded near Hankinson, in Richland Co. ND from 1887 to 1894. Three of their small children died in the month of August, in the years of 1887, 1890 and 1893. Any known common factor for that month? One child born in White Rock, SD, during time they lived in Hankinson - was there a better doctor there? Witnesses on their Homestead Papers were Andrew Olson, Eldred M. Strong, Cassius Lisk and Lemuel T. Dunham. Caleb Ezra Stewart, who also lived near by, was a brother in law. Thanks for any help you can give to me in Florida.

I am answering a query from 2001 by Susannah Sears who was asking about Duraine MAKINSTER. Her e-mail address is not current.
"susannah sears Sat Jun 2 10:18:03 2001
I am trying to locate any information on Dewey Dwayne (Duane?) MAKINSTER who lived and had a farm in Lidgerwood, ND sometime between 1860 and 1910. This is my great-great-great grandfather and any information you could offer would be much appreciated.
Thank you, Susannah Sears "

I have a Duraine Dewey MAKINSTER, he was born in Wisconsin in January 1852, per the 1900 census for ND. He was the son of Dewey (b. 2/1827 in NY) and Eliza (b. 4/1827 in NY) MAKINSTER. His siblings per the 1860 MN, Waseca County (listed as McKINSTER) census and the 1870 MN, Faribault County (listed as McQUESTEN) census are Major, Surviva C., Ida Medora, and Josephine.

E-mail me if you read this and want more info. They are hard to find as their name is mispelled / misinterpreted easily. I am the Great-Grandaughter of Ida Medora.

ELLESTAD - HOUSKER

L C Johnson Mon Jun 7 09:25:55 2004

I am interested in tracing kinfolk who lived, and in all likely currently are living in Richland County, North Dakota.
Their names are Robert L. and Dean ELLESTAD (both most likely now deceased), or any children born to them who may yet be in that area. Robert and Dean were sons of George B. and Alice (HOUSKER) ELLESTAD . George was born at Walcott on Sept. 27, 1889, and married to Alice on June 15, 1915. They also had two daughters, Joyce and Dorayne. Joyce married and moved away from Richland County, but Dorayne, so far as I know, remained there and married Glen NYBECK. She died in November, 1975. Her children (NYBECK), if any, also would be distant cousins to me. The four children of George and Alice would be my second cousins, once removed.

Any information your could provide, or useful links, would be much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Leonard C. Johnson
