- The marriage of our young fellow-townsman, Mr. Fitz BOYNTON, of the First National Bank, and Miss Annie J. COPELAND, only daughter of Wm. S. COPELAND, Esq., of the Messenger House, on Wednesday afternoon last, afforded opportunity for a very pleasant occasion. A large number of invitations were issued to witness the ceremony, which took place in the Presbyterian Church. The church was tastefully decorated with flowers, and the marriage ceremony performed by Rev. S.H. HOWE. A reception was appointed at half-past three o'clock at the residence of the bride, and the spacious parlors of the Messenger House were filled by invited guests. The windows were darkened, the gas lighted, and the bride and groom, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. COPELAND, received their guests with genuine hospitality. The presents were displayed in the south end of the south parlor, and attracted a large share of attention by their beauty and richness. The refreshments were laid out in the dining-room, furnished by the Messrs. WOOD, of Syracuse, and were gotten up in elaborate profusion and in the most elegant style. The bride's cake, upon one end of the table, was capped by an ornamental tower, and on the other end was a companion piece. In the centre was a large stand of flowers, while flowers adorned and perfumed the whole length of the richly-laden table. It was nearly dark before the guests began to leave - all agreeing that it was a pleasant affair. The bride and groom left on the evening train.
