Nuptial. [Married] At Groton (Con.) Mr. Joseph HEWLETT, aged about ninety, to Mrs. Azuba PHILLIPS, aged sixty-five. By a former wife he had 26 children; the present bone adds nine, making him father of thirty-five children.
The courtship was an interesting one - The aged hero on his first interview, addressed his dulcinea in the most affectionate language, with "You pretty creature - as handsome as a picture!" - to which she sweetly replied, with a nod of acceptance, "Mr. H----, you are a good creature," in a manner that aroused at once "his youthful fancy," and the bargain was struck up.
