BALDWIN - BOLTON

Corrine Banach Fri Apr 15 20:54:57 2005
I have found the surname BALDWIN starting in Orleans County Census 1865. With the names of Asa BALDWIN born 3/1815 son of J David BALDWIN, wife Louisa C. BOLTON born 1820 daughter of Anson BOLTON.
Children Mary born 1839, Romanzo E born 4/23/1848, David Brust born 12/1854 all of Madison.
I am finding BALDWINs, but only records of Asa and Louisa are in Perryville Cemetery for Infant son died 6/8/1848 age 6 weeks, 4 days, and Nancy A BALDWIN died 10/26/1851 age 7 years, 7 months, and 12 days.
Can you help me find any more information?
With this I could complete 7 generations of BALDWIN lines.
I also found a referance to BOUTON as a French name, all thought all information I have found is BOLTON it could have been altered at one time???!

RADLEY - DENNY

Jody Tue May 24 10:49:14 2005
I am looking for relatives, people who remember or any source of records for the Peterboro Home {which was an orphanage}....My grandmother Mildred I RADLEY {DENNY} was in that orphanage with her brother Jay Irving RADLEY and another sibling, which I beleive was a younger sister.

Story goes.....My Grandmothers older siser"Rheta RADLEY" died in a fire at her home from lighting a Christmas tree candle while her mother was at her sisters house fetching a sled to take Rheta and her brother Jay to town. This was in the article that was written in the paper. Rheta died from burns sustatined from her injuries. Jay and Mildred along with a younger sister were placed in the "Peterboro Home" {orphange}. In 1927, my grandmother was adopted by John and Minnie ENGLAND and her name changed to Virginia ENGLAND as the adoption records show it is stated "the 3 aforemention children ordered to Peterboro Home". By reading this it seems to me there are 3 children placed back in the home....1 being Jay and 2 other siblings. I am searching for the 2 other siblings. From a story I hear was a girl who I am assuming from stories live now in Stockbridge possibly with the first name Laura.. If she is reading this or anyone heard a story from a woman that remembers she had a sister with the first initial "M" and married a man named William JONES "somewhere around Utica".

The information I need is very important as my grandomother was searching for her parents before she passed away and we found her biological parents after she had passed. Now we have pictures of her biological mother and father {Clara HALL / Norman RADLEY} and also information and pictures of Jay and pics as well. We are now trying to find the rest of our family which we are assuming is 2 siblings to complete the circle and be able to do what my Grandmother set out to do. We know the children were given up to the Peterboro Home. We know Jay ran away and moved to California and has since passed away. My grandmother was able to meet him before she passed. Now we are trying to find any possible way to find the remaining, being they are of higher age, time is getting slim. I am told I look just like my grandmother and somehow think if I just take a quick trip to Stockbridge I will know this woman when I see her just from looks, but I need more then that to say she is my grandmothers sister.

Anyone with information please contact me by email. If you request my phone numebr by email I will give it to you. Even if someone knows how I can obtain these names from the Peterboro adoption records it will be a start. Please help. Time has become so limited and I would like to see these 2 of my grandmothers siblings before they are no more.

FORD - RANSDALE

Lesley Ford-Ramirez Fri May 27 20:10:56 2005
I am trying to find information on my father's side of the family who lived in Solsville, New York. My grandfather's name was Arthur Jay FORD, my grandmother's name was Lila (maiden name RANSDALE). My father, now deceased had an older brother named Roy and a younger brother, who died at a young age. My grandfather was a dairy farmer who ultimately sold his dairy to Borden's. My father had a photo of a sign in front of a large dairy barn that said, "Windridge Farms Madison, New York," on the back of the photo was his father's name - maybe these are the new owners. Some of my father's relatives (I was told) own a rock quarry in the Solsville area. My father had relatives in Detroit, Michigan that were in the cosmetic business. His ancestors came from Stratford on Avon, England. Oh, yes, and his older brother's wife was named Ruth, who had a daughter named Hazel? If anyone has any information on this family please email me. I am trying to put together a family tree.

Searching for the parents of Oliver Perry CAMPBELL b 14 Sep 1819 in NY m Elizabeth WISE 1841 and d 1865. I have found him in Eaton, Madison, NY in the 1850 census called Perry H CAMPBELL with his wife. In the 1840 census I have found Adam CAMPBELL in Eaton, then in 1830 in Smithfield, 1820 Lenox (with a male of the correct age in the household) then in 1810 possibly the same guy in Frankfort, Herkimer, NY. Can anybody confirm that this is Oliver's father? In the 1850 census, living with Oliver and his family is a 17 year old named Edward PERRY which makes me suspicious Perry is his mother's maiden name.

Anybody recognize this guy?

Mary BRICK married my great grandfather, James MURPHY around 1849-50 in Weedsport or Auburn, NY. They both came from Ireland in 1848. James lived with his sister when he arrived but I don't know his sister's name. There first child (Katherine) was born in 1850-51 and after she was born they moved to Lenawee County, Michigan. DICK - JOHNSON

Gail Boyer Swetman Sun Jun 26 16:40:13 2005
HELP! I am in need of any information on my Paternal Grandmother's line. Her name was Mary Serena JOHNSON. She was born in Aug. 1894 in Oneida. She married Clarence Edward BOYER. They were married in Oneida around 1916. Her parents were: John Lester JOHNSON and Rose Serena DICK. I think both of them were born in Madison County. I believe John was born abt. 1865 and Rose abt. 1871. I believe they married somewhere around 1889-1890.

They also had other chidren named: Blanche, Earl, Leo, and Joseph. I believe that Rose DICK's parents were: Jacob DICK born Dec. 1836 and Serena (?) born Jul of 1833. They are listed in the 1900 Fed. Census/NY/Madison/Onieda/Dist.27. They were both born in Germany and all their parents were born in Germany as well. Jacob lists that he immigrated in 1837, which would have made him 1 yrs old. Serena lists that she immigrated in 1844, but I don't know her surname. It also says that Serena had 6 children, but only 3 were living at the time the census was taken. I would love to know the names of the kids.

I found a possible match for John L. JOHNSON's parents as he states on the census that his father was from England. I found a perfect match with his age in an 1870 NY/Madison/Oneida/Utica/Ward 8 with the family of John JOHNSON from England, wife Mary (?) (name of my grandmother!), and children: Alfred, William, John (Possibly my great grandfather), Grace, Minnie, Rosana, and Cornelia JOHNSON. I just need help to verify that my hunch is right! I have found no other people online that is searching this family.

Toward the end of their lives, my great grandparents: John JOHNSON and Rose Serena (DICK) moved to Syracuse, Onandaga, NY. I'm still trying to find out where they are buried?! I was not raised around my father's family growing up, and that's why I didn't know any of these people. But, as luck would have it, of course, I'm the only one doing the genealogy!

Anyone out there kind enough to help me or do any acts of genealogy kindness would surely get a brownie point in heaven. Heehee. Thanks in advance to those that help us out-of-stater's get going on our family tree's!
