In the book "History of Otsego County" it states on page 293 that Caleb BROWN was an early settler (1805) in the town known as Unadilla Forks. It also states that he built a wollen-factory on what is called the "island" located a short distance south of Unadilla Forks. In a book on Madison County history I ran across the same general information only this book said that the "island" was about 3/4 mile south of Unadilla Forks. I have about 60 years knowledge of Unadilla Forks and can't picture where this factory may have been. Depending on which side of the Unadilla River it was on, it could have either been in Otsego or Madison county. Does anyone know where this site may be located?
