LUTHER
Alice Sun Jan 1 21:05:22 2006
My great grandfather x4, was Hezekiah Samuel LUTHER, and he was supposed to have died in Georgetown, NY, and buried in Eaton, NY. I have been searching the cemetery listings, and can find nothing for him, or his wife, Robia (SEAMANS) LUTHER. Hezekiah usually went by the name of Samuel, and he was born November 1778, in Warren, Rhode Island, Bristol County.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It's been 6 yrs since I posted a query, so decided to try again. I am looking for information on a John PALMER b: abt 1820 on the Atlantic Ocean. He married Margaret ROGERS b: abt 1822. She is the daughter of James & Mary ROGERS. In the 1850 census of Cazanovia the PALMERs were living with Margaret's parents. I have not found anything more of them since 1850.
I'm hoping to hear something.

Looking for the ancestors of Benjamin LAWRENCE and his wife Lois ELLIOT. They are the parents of my ggrandfather Ambrose LAWRENCE. I believe that Ambrose was born in Madison County.
His brother was Abram R LAWRENCE b March 10, 1819 in Madison County, NY, m. Eliza Ann ? and died November 5, 1904 in Edinburgh, Saratoga County, NY. This is from Chapter 50 of "The History of Saratoga County, New York" by Nathaniel Bartlett Sylvester 1878. Town of Corinth. Abram R. LAWRENCE, son of Benjamin and Lois LAWRENCE, b. Madison Co., N.Y., s. 1844, Farmer; P.O., West Day.
The Madison County census for 1820 has a Benjamin LAWRENCE and family. I did not find them on the 1830 census there. Ambrose was born April 8,1824. I also believe that a Erastus LAWRENCE b. 1809 was a brother. Erastus is buried in Lenox Rural Cemetery.
The 1855 census of Warren County says Benjamin, Lois and daughter Jane (b. 1808) came to Warren County from Montgomery County in 1844. I believe that Benjamin LAWRENCE was b 1781 in MA (possibly Lenox, MA).
Any help greatly appreciated!!

Emeline BUTLER, daughter of Charles BUTLER and Mary ROOKS, was born 25 August, 1839. She was an orphan when married in 1860 in Illinois. She told my grandmother she was born in "Yara" NY, but I can find no such place. Other sources say Webster, but I can't find that either. I suspect she was born in Madison County because her husband's family, the FARNHAMs, were in Cazenovia. I would like any information on the ROOKS and/or BUTLERs in the area.
Does anyone know where an orphan might have ended up after (roughly) 1849, when her father left for the gold rush?
