I am looking for information on a Mrs. Earl PELLETT. I don't have her first name or maiden name, so the death index doesn't help me unless someone can look up her husband's death certificate (he died June 24, 1945 and is in 16a-127 in the deaths in the Register of Deeds office in Richland County). She became a foster sister of a relative of mine and I was curious about her (my relative lived from 1875 to 1950, so I wondered how foster children were handled that long ago).

Does anyone have an index to the series of articles that were printed in the newspaper about various settlers who made the county (I can't think what the actual title was or when it ran)? I'm not talking about the cemetery stories that Herbert Dieter did.

I would like to find out more about John BLACKHURST. He went to the USA in 1847. In the 1851 census he was in East & West Galena Illinois with his wife Eliza and 4 children (Adah, Zilla, Resiah & Samuel Luther) His wife had returned to England by 1860 and had with her 2 sons Wesley born in 1855 in Illinois and George Adamson (my great grandfather) born in 1858 in Wisconsin. She was then a widow but we have no record of what became of him or the other children (if they were his!) His son is recorded as saying John was a travelling evangelist although in the 1851 census he was listed as a smelter.

Trying to obtain copy of photo of Ebenezer M SEXTON, founder of Sextonville, Richland Co., WI in 1850. In Sextonville he owned and/or operated a hotel, a sawmill, and postoffice. He served as county treasurer in 1861-2. He moved to Barron Co. in 1872 and was their dist. attorney. In 1876 he became ill, returned to Sextonville and died.
Thought that I once saw his photo with full dark beard in a history book of a Wisconsin county (Richland?). He was my great-great-grandfather.

I'm looking for Sara McGRATH who posted a query back in 2001 regarding these names. I am descended from several of these families and would like to correspond with her, but her e-mail at the time of the post is no longer active.
