Seeking information on a NORMENT family living in Chatham Co. in mid-to-late 1700s. William NORMENT and Elizabeth MOORE had a son named William Stokes NORMENT reportedly born 7 Oct 1794 in Savannah. The family moved to Robeson County NC around 1800 and some later settled in Mecklenburg Co. NC. I am trying to connect this line to my NORMENT family from Virginia. Would greatly appreciate any info that would confirm this family lived in Chatham Co. and any clues regarding their migration from Virginia or the parentage of William NORMENT and Elizabeth MOORE.

I'm looking for the family of Helen Clare McCARTHY who was born in Savannah, GA on Dec. 20 1869. According to her marriage record in Boston, MA her parents names were Michael D. McCARTHY and Catharine LEAVITT. I've located a Michael D. and Catharine McCARTHY in Savannah in the 1860 US Federal Census. I have also found birth records for their children at the Diocese of Savannah but no record of Helen. However there is a birth record for an Ellen McCARTHY on Dec. 22, 1866 which may be who I'm looking for but I'm not yet convinced. They also give Ellen's mother's maiden name as LOVETT, not LEAVITT. Michael and Catharine McCARTHY are buried in the Cathloic Cemetery in Savannah so they lived in the area between 1854 (birth of their first child, Dennis) through 1910 when Catharine died. I'm hoping someone has documented this family and can help me determine if it's the family I'm looking for.

I have a family picture that show a pic of a small boy. On the back it show the following. Forrest Theron POWELL. Born Jun 11 1907 and died Jan 14 1910. I was wondering if anyone knew anything on him or if they know where he is buried. I am sure the marker would be very worn. He would have been my great uncle as he was my grandmother's brother. She never said how he died.
Thank you for looking at my post.

I'm looking for information on Edward CRAWFORD who settled and bought land in Georgia in 1775. He was listed in a Canadian book as having 300 acres on the O'Gretchle River, but I'm thinking it's a misspelling of Ogeechee. He was born around 1740 and his wifes name was possibly Sarah. Thanks!

I am searching for information on Matana GODBEE. I find a marriage record for Matana GODBEE and William Henry BUCHANAN, April 3, 1862, Chatham Co., Georgia, Country Court Records. William Henry BUCHANAN was my G.G. Grandfather. If this is MY gg.grandfather, then the marriage would have taken place after his first term of service in the Civil War. Shortly after this, he re-enlisted and died in 1864.
I need to know if Matana was, indeed, my g.g.grandmother. But, I have no information whatever on the GODBEE family. I only recently discovered this marriage and am hoping to tie it to my family.

I am searching for details/descendants of Abram (or Abraham) ARTLEY b 1852, Pennsylvania [Fishing Creek, Columbia County ??] married to Albaretta (maiden name unknown) b 1854, Pennsylvania - they married in 1875.
The children of this marriage were John B ARTLEY b 1881; Willian H ARTLEY b 1883;Mary K ARTLEY b 1885; (Fannie) Lois b 1890; Alla(e?)n b 1890; and Ruth M ARTLEY b 1895.
The 1910 US Federal census details indicate there were ten children born in this family but only seven living. Since there were only six children listed in the 1900 census, I assume the eldest was absent from the household the day the census was collected. I also assume that the three deceased children died in the period from 1875 until at least 1880. Abraham is listed as a contractor and Allen was a draftsman.
