I am researching the "STREET" family who I found living in Newnan in the 1870's. They were my relatives, GEORGIA, GEORGE and CHANA STREET. GEORGE & CHANA were my GREAT-GREAT-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS. Their son, Felix STREET, was my GREAT-GREAT-GANDFATHER; He was also living in Newnan in the 1870's. Sometime around the end of slavery, the STREET family migrated to Newnan from either Harris County or Jefferson County, Georgia. I believe that they left Jefferson County where they were slavers on the Richard and Thomas STREET plantation. Estate documents for Richard STREET indicate that he had over 120 slaves, making his plantation one of the larger plantations in Georgia. Felix STREET had a sister Judy STREET-GREER. Any information on the STREET family of George & Chana or Richard and Thomas STREET would be deeply appreciated.
