I am seeking info on the ancestors of the Wiley WALL/Harriet BALLEW family, who moved to Walker Co. from Catoosa Co. following the Civil War. Wiley was a sharecropper who came originally from NC. Harriet was b. in Catoosa Co. They had eight children, four girls and four boys. The girls were Delonia, Pautha, Minnie and Mahalla. They boys were Bynum, Hartwell, Wilburn and Wiley. It is not known if all moved to Walker Co. I would appreciate any information.

Any info abt Willis Coleman HUATT, who d. 23 Apr 1902 around W. Armuchee Valley, Walker Co., GA. His wife, Rachel Elizabeth BENNETT d. near Subligna, Walker Co., GA. Together, they had at least 4 boys and 2 girls: Ophelia, b. abt 1876, d. abt 1882; William Ira HEUATT, b. 08 Jul 1869; John Walter HEWATT, b. 1870; Joseph Marsh HEWATT, b. 03 Apr 1873; Richard HEWATT, b. 1882; Unamed dau. Note the differences in spelling of the HEWATT surname. The three older boys each left GA upon reaching manhood. William Ira migrated to southern OK. John Walter to N. Central TX. My ancestor, Joseph Marsh to the panhandle of OK to homestead around 1900. Please let me know if you have any info on any of these individuals, no matter how trivial.

War veteran, William Eires FOX. Wilmouth FOX continued to live in Jasper Co. where she had originally settled until her death ca 1830/1840. William FOX and Wilmouth FOX had immigrated from NC into GA c1820.

Would like to communicate with descendants of John FOX and his wife Lucinda "Lucy" HUDGINS who settled in Calhoun Co. in the 1850's. John FOX'S mother was Wilmouth FOX who acquired land in Walker Co. during the Cherokee Land Lottery of 1838. George W. FOX took up the land there. Would like to know what happened to George and perhaps his family. John and Lucy HUDGINS FOX were members of and perhaps founders of Harmony Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Surnmes being searched in Walker Co: ROSS, BAILEY. Primarily looking for birth or death/burial records and other possible siblings or ancestors of grandfather William Benjamin ROSS (b. 1878 reportedly in GA -- possibly Walker Co., GA). He moved to Morgan Co., TN in 1885-1900; m. Julia Etta LANGLEY in 1900. He d. in 1909 in Morgan Co., TN but no burial records available in TN. It is possible he was bur. in Walker Co. William Benjamin ROSS had a sister-in-law, LaVerna BRANUMBURGH (1885-1970) who was m. to William Mathew LANGLEY in Morgan Co. TN in 1903; then to Wiley ESTES in Morgan Co. TN in 1914; and finally to Homer Jason BAILEY in Walker Co. GA in 1923. She d. was bur. as "Vernie Campbell Bailey" in Memorial Cem. Rossville, Walker Co. Because of the early death of William Benjamin ROSS and subsequent early demise of his first-born son (both d. bef.age 30), very little family history is known. Any help on this ROSS family would be tremendously appreciated.

Looks like my Thomas B COOPER and wife and 4 oldest children (girls) in Walker Co., GA in 1840 Census. Thomas Benjerman COOPER (b. 1813 m. 1833 Jasper Co., GA d. 1898 bur. Lamar Co., GA). Orry Eveline (TRAMMEL) COOPER (b.1814 d.1875 bur. Lamar Co., GA). Looking for proof that they were indeed in Walker Co., GA in 1840 according to Census records. Also looking for parents and siblings of these two. According to Pike Co History of families, Thomas B COOPER's siblings were: James, John, Andrew, Life?, and Morgan? (last two could be nicknames or middle names). Siblings names, not necessarily in the order presented. Lived in Jasper, Pike, and Upson Co.

I am looking for info on my gg grandmother, Tamar TYNER HUNT. I have a copy of an article as it appears in the Walker Co. history books regarding the capture of Tamar and her sister Mary by an Indian raiding party. The article was written by James Alfred SARTAIN and possibly appears on Page 40? The incident took place in what is now Elbert Co. on the banks of Cody's Creek where Tamar's father, Rochard or Richard TYNER, had built a home for his family. I found my 4th ggrandfather, John W. RITCHEY, in the 1850 census of Walker Co., GA with his wife, Susan (STEWART) RITCHEY and four of their children, Martha, Robert, John and William. John RITCHEY was a pioneer minister for the Cumberland Presbyterian Ch. I'm searching for any info about RITCHEY families in Walker Co.; appreciate any help you might give me with this. Thanks!

I am looking for the RAMEY and WHEELER families in Walker Co., GA. They were original settlers in Cane Creek in abt. 1830. Jeremiah RAMEY is listed in a History of Walker Co.. I believe his father to be William RAMEY but, I haven't been able to prove it yet. Jeremiah RAMEY m. Pricilla WHEELER abt.1846 in Walker Co.. They had 9 children, the oldest of which is Colby D. RAMEY my ancestor. Pricilla WHEELER'S parents were Colby WHEELER and Ginny WHISTENANT. Colby later m. Sarah (Sally)________ . I believe Colby's parents to be George WHEELER and Lydia but, I have no proof of that yet. Colby and Ginny came from Habersham Co., GA, where they where m. Thanks for any help.

Would appreciate any info on the family of Rev. Thomas Wm. POWELL (1839-1887) who lived in Berrien Co., GA from Dec 1880 until his death in Aug 1887. Rev. POWELL moved to Berrien Co. from Clinch Co. where he lived from 1874 to 1880. He preached at several churches in Clinch (Stockton Baptist 1868-70), Coffee (Antioch, Poplar Springs), and Berrien Co.s (Rays Mill, Milltown, Nashville First Baptist.) Rev. T.W.
