I am researching Jacob STILWELL / STILLWELL & his family, known to be in
Troup Co.GA
in 1830. Jacob was a Baptist minister who migrated from NC to GA in 1827
to participate in the land lottery. Anyone with an interest in, or knowledge of this family, would love to
hear from you.
Or, if anyone with access to an 1830 Troup Co.GA Census could provide
detail on the two Jacob
listings (Page 038 & 042), would greatly appreciate that help. Thanks.

WHITFIELD/GIBSON: On Dec. 18, 1823, Horatio WHITFIELD married Nancy
GIBSON, daughter of John GIBSON and Frances "Fanny" FLEWELLEN, in Jones
Co., GA. They moved to Troup County where Horatio died March 4, 1842;
Nancy died in 1863. It is said that Horatio was murdered while
traveling between LaGrange and his plantation. I would like to share
information with the Whitfield descendants of the Gibson family. I would
also appreciate any information regarding the murder of Horatio.
