STILLWELL, STILWELL posted by Berna Stillwell on Saturday, November 1, 1997: I am researching Jacob STILWELL / STILLWELL & his family, known to be in Troup Co.GA in 1830. Jacob was a Baptist minister who migrated from NC to GA in 1827 to participate in the land lottery. Anyone with an interest in, or knowledge of this family, would love to hear from you. Or, if anyone with access to an 1830 Troup Co.GA Census could provide detail on the two Jacob listings (Page 038 & 042), would greatly appreciate that help. Thanks.

FLEWELLEN, GIBSON, WHITFIELD posted by Larry Comer on Sunday, November 2, 1997: WHITFIELD/GIBSON: On Dec. 18, 1823, Horatio WHITFIELD married Nancy GIBSON, daughter of John GIBSON and Frances "Fanny" FLEWELLEN, in Jones Co., GA. They moved to Troup County where Horatio died March 4, 1842; Nancy died in 1863. It is said that Horatio was murdered while traveling between LaGrange and his plantation. I would like to share information with the Whitfield descendants of the Gibson family. I would also appreciate any information regarding the murder of Horatio.

John WILLINGHAM was married 3 times (wives names unknown) and is said to have had several children who lived at LaGran ge, Ga. John was one of 12 children. Have some information on his siblings. Information is needed and appreciated in finding some of his wives.

AUSBORN, MASINGALE, MASSENGALE, OSBORN posted by Dorothy Bumbaugh on Monday, November 17, 1997: I am searching for any information on Joel Avery OSBORN who married Mary MASINGALE/MASSENGALE, June 24,1830 by Justice of the Peace J.P. Mays of Troup Co. Joel and Mary were both born ca. 1811. Is there anyone that is researching these same names that cou ld help me go back beyond Joel. I have all the information from him onward ad will be glad to share it. They had three children and ca. 1839 left Ga. and moved to Alabama and stayed only a short while then moved on to Itawamba Co., Ms. Where some of the O SBORN's later changed the spellling to AUSBORN.

DAVIS posted by Carole J. Hays on Tuesday, November 25, 1997: DAVIS - The obituary of James Lewis DAVIS (who at the time of his death lived in Winn Parish, LA) stated that he was born in Troup Co., GA, in 1837, to Samuel W. and Malena Davis. In 1844 the family moved to Bossier Parish, LA, and later moved to Claiborn e Parish and then Winn Parish. I cannot find evidence of the family having lived in Troup Co. If anyone has connections to this family, please contact me via e-mail. I'll be happy to share what information I have, especially on children, grandchildren, et c.

ALFORD, BUTLER, MIDDLEBROOK, MILAM, NELSON, RICHARDSON, WHITE posted by Ron Richardson on Wednesday, November 26, 1997: Seeking father of David RICHARDSON Sr., possibly David Nelson RICHARDSON Sr., born in Georgia circa 1785, died in Troup County, Georgia in 1850. Cotton Planter on Troup County 4th. District, land lot # 108 and 107 in the Union Community, now Jones Crossro ads. Wife Nancy. Children John Eaton, David Nelson RICHARDSON Jr. (My line), Lucretia, Mary, Rebecca, William White RICHARDSON, Samuel Francis Marion Richardson and possibly a George D. Richardson. Allied familes are MILAM's, NELSON's, WHITE's, ALFORD's, MIDDLEBROOK, and BUTLER's. This family lived on the Harris/Troup County line above Whitesville, Georgia.

MOORE posted by George E. Moore on Wednesday, December 3, 1997: My Great Grandmother, Elizabeth C. MOORE, was born in Troup County August 1820, Died March 1901. My Great Uncle, Millenton W. Moore was born in Troup County June 1841. Possibly died in July 1862(Civil War, possibly?)!! Either or, both could be buried in T roup County!?? Hope someone knows about the Cemeteries there and will help me obtain proper information. Thanks.

Could have been Mary or Eliza. Siblings are Jeremiah, Obediah, James, Phoebe, John W., William, Jane, and Jesse. We have a lot of inf ormation to share on the descendants, but need more on George's father, Jesse and his wife and their parents. The family moved to AL by 1830 and then to Walton Co, FL by 1860. We are sure this group ties back to the Nehemiah EDGE group. Any information wi ll be greatly appreciated.

Elizabeth (?); Family is on 1850 Troup Co. GA census. Known children: William Washington, Sarah, Louisa, Martha E., Frances, Emily, Arpey, Missouri and John. In 1855 AL State census John A. and family are in Autauga Co. AL. Son William Washington m. Elizabeth MCGINTY in Muscogee Co. GA 2 July 1848. Elizabeth MCGINTY MADDOX d. ca. 1856 leaving two small children Sara Elizabeth and Billy Jr. Her father was prob. Mescha ck MCGINTY; he and his family are living next door in the 1855 Autauga Co. AL census and near John A'.s widow Elizabeth in 1860 Autauga Co. AL census. Thank you.

He married Sarah Ophelia COLE in Chambers Co. AL in 1885 and died there on 6-16-1927. His parents were Henry Mathis LANKFORD and Susan A BEALIA(b.1829 ,Pine Mt GA).
