My great grandfather was born in 1830. In the 1860 census for Troup County, Mountville District, P. O. at Mountville Ga, he was listed as 30 years
old. His name was Alexander ALLISON; his wife was Samantha, age 23.
Is there still a Mountville Ga in Troup County? I know some of the descendants ended up in Thomaston. Any information you can give would be appreciated. Don't really know what I'm looking for, as I have never done genealogy before but would like to take
a stab at it.
