Seeking info re: my grandmother's father,JOHN ANDERSON GRØNENG aka GRAUENG/ANDERSON, b.1848-49. Emigrated from Bergen Norway 1883. Filed lst papers for naturalization as JOHAN ANDERSON GRAUENG, Cass Co., April 7 1884, Vol D-7, p 138.

JOHAN ANDERSON GRØNENG had been a policeman in Bergen. Family remained in Norway and lost contact with father. It is belief that he met foul play and died at Fargo or Moorhead. Seek details of death, date and burial location. My grandmother m. Hjelmeland emigrated to Iowa in 1909. Letters between my grandmother and her sister in Norway in 1914 discuss that the father died several years ago and that there was something in Bergen newspapers re: estate? May have used GRØNENG/GRAUENG/ANDERSON surnames?

Any help or suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

Looking for information on Jorgan "George" SOLBERG born 5 Apr 1876 Fillmore County, Minnesota. Married 15 Dec 1899 (where unknown). Died 28 Nov 1963 in Fargo. His parents were Jon and Jorgina SOLBERG. Wife Ellen REIERSGORD born 21 Aug 1879 Ulen, Minnesota. Died 13 Oct 1963 in Fargo. Thought to be buried in Moorhead. Her parents were Evan REIERSGORD and Guri BENTAGEN. They had two sons Edgar Jennings SOLBERG and Lloyd Orlando SOLBERG. Any information you are able to provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Josephine MORIN, b 4 Mar 1865 in Quebec. 1880 Dakota Territory census shows her parents as Lafit and Anna MORIN. Seeking info on them. Josephine was my great grandmother, she married Octave DUVAL, b 6 June 1856, Canada. Their first child was Cora Marie, b 18 April 1886, in Wild Rice, Cass, ND, my paternal grandmother. The family moved to Oregon, but as far as I can tell, Lafit and Anna did not move here. Josephine and Octave married in Wild Rice, assuming in 1885. Would appreciate any info possible.. I would like some information on my father and his family. My father's name was Charles Spencer Harris, born in Fargo, ND on Sept. 19, 1902. He had a sister names Jessamine Elma Harris, born Aug. 29, 1900; brother Melvin George Harris, born Feb. 15, 1905. Other family members who may be cousins are Birdella Prudence Maudlin, born Oct. 21, 1904; Walter James Maudlinm birn July 31, 1907; David Julius Maudlin, born Jan. 25, 1906; Mable Irene Maudlin, born Jan. 9, 1909; Marion Alice Mathis, born Mar. 30, 1907; Elmer Louis Rogers, born Dec. 12, 1907; and Evelyn Ruth Rogers, born Aug. 2, 1909. This is all of the information I currently have. I would assume some or all of these people were born in or around Fargo. Any information would be very helpful.

Seeking 1882-1900 info about Smith STIMMEL, who moved from Cincinnati OH to Fargo in 1882. He was an attorney in OH, although listed in 1895 Cass Co ND census as farmer. He was said to be the last president of the Dakota Territorial Council, in 1888.

Am trying to link up lost relations to three individuals -- all born in Kitley, Ontario, who may have lived in Cass Co., ca. 1900: Ferd A. WYATT, b. 1872; Gertude Wyatt BOYD, b. 1874; Nellie Wyatt CALDWELL, b. 1876. Family files indicate Nellie and Gertude lived near Fargo. Have tons of info on their ancestors (to share) and their brother, William Case WYATT, b. 1879 in Kitley, Ontario, and his family. He lived in Moorehead-Dillworth, MN area, in 1900-1902, 1909-1922.

I am trying to locate any descendants of George Hackney and his wife, Barbara Chalmers Hackney. I found a Barbara Hackney on the 1885 Dakota Territory Census. She was listed as age 15, a seamstress born in Canada. She was living in Tower City. This could possibly be one of the daughters. I believe that if this is our Barbara she died in 1886.

Other children would have been: George Chalmers,Annie,Catherine, William, Wilbert, Maggie, Thomas, Matthew, Christina, Evangeline, Ida and Edward. There was also Arthur born 05 Jan 1886 but he may have been the son of Barbara who was listed on the 1885 census.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
